The Lost 80’s Live is the longest running tour of 80’s New Wave and Classic Alternative artists and it features great music and artists from the greatest decade ever. This year the party will be hosted by legendary 80’s DJ and New Wave expert, Richard Blade!

A Flock of Seagulls, Big Country and General Public are Headlining This Year’s Tour
Mike Score (sans his awesome 80’s hairdo) leads the current version of A Flock of Seagulls on this tour where they have been performing 80’s epics like “I Ran”, “Space Age Lovesong” and “Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)” in front of delighted audiences.
Dave Wakeling is putting on his General Public hat (instead of The English Beat) and playing hits from that duo like “Tenderness” and “Never You Done That”.
The current version of the Big Country will be playing favorite songs like “In a Big Country” and “Look Away”.
Check out our YouTube playlist of the songs from the artists on the Lost 80’s Live tour.
The Vapors, The Icicle Works, and China Crisis are Also Performing
In 1980, “Turning Japanese” was a huge hit for The Vapors and it is still a great song. The song hit #3 on the UK charts and also made the US Top 40. The music video was omnipresent on the video shows during that time as well.
“Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream” was a big hit in the US for The Icicle Works, reaching the Top 40 in 1984. The band features original members Ian McNabb (lead vocals and guitar) and Chris Layhe (bass and backing vocals).
China Crisis had 10 singles hit the charts in the UK, but are probably best known in the US for their hit, “Working with Fire and Steel”. I’m excited to see them, as I less familiar with their work than most of the other artists appearing. China Crisis features two original members: Gary Daly and Eddie Lundon.
Josie Cotton, The Polecats, Belouis Some and Peter Godwin Round Out the Lost 80’s Live Bill
Featured in the 1983 cult classic film Valley Girl, Josie Cotton is best known for the song “Johnny Are You Queer”. Hailing from Dallas, this will be a homecoming for her.
“Make a Circuit With Me” is one of the cleverest songs of the 80’s and a personal favorite of mine. I’m really looking forward to seeing The Polecats perform it live.
Belouis Some was featured on a John Hughes soundtrack which automatically qualifies him as an 80’s legend. “Some People” and “Imagination” are some of his better known songs.
Richard Blade has been featuring Peter Godwin all this week on his show of First Wave on SiriusXM and has raved about his set. I’m personally looking forward to his 1982 hit “Images of Heaven”.
We will post a review of the concert later along with pictures and videos.
