Here is a companion playlist of songs by artists mentioned in our recent series about American New Wave and 80’s Alternative artists where we discussed our top-ten artists and had a series about the best of the rest and unveiled our top ten one-hit wonder songs.
This playlist includes song by bands from our top ten American 80’s alternative artists like Devo, Talking Heads and The B-52’s. It also all of the songs in our top one-hit wonders list like “Obsession” by Animotion. We also have multiple songs from many of our “Best of the Rest” artists like The Motels who were in our “Big Time” article and The Call who were in our “There is a Light that Never Goes Out” group of New Wave artists with enduring songs.
Also included in this playlist are favorites from 80’s bands that are still out there touring like They Might be Giants and Violent Femmes. Some other 80’s alternative artists that we featured include all-time new wave and 80’s alternative legends like Ramones and The Pixies.
Stray Cats who just announced a tour also have several songs included in this playlist that they will be playing on their tour, like “Stray Cat Strut.”
